All modern BMW vehicles need the DME to be unlocked in order to accept tuning calibrations, most models built before June 2020 only require a basic unlock technique that we can perform at Osprey, newer than June 2020 vehicles require a DME intricate unlock. Osprey can facilitate this procedure with same day unlocks. 
 
Two Options Available: 
Option 1: Make a booking and visit Osprey to Unlock. This will cost a standard £50 DME Removal and Refit Charge. 
 
Option 2 (UK Mainland Only): Send your DME to Unit 9 Kestrel Park Finch Drive Braintree CM72SF. Make sure to clearly mark your DME with your VIN Number and Order Number. Ensure your DME is securely packaged. Once Unlocked we will send this back to you with Express Fedex Delivery.

*Note: We recommend all users to turn off OTA Updates to prevent any software getting updated - which may or may not require the vehicle to be Unlocked again of which you will need to purchase the unlock again*
 
Osprey Performance  is not liable and responsible for ECU/DMEs that are received dead on arrival (DOA) or damaged during shipping. Please use proper packaging and insurance on any shipments of ECU/DMEs sent to Osprey Performance to ensure a smooth Unlock process. The customer is responsible for shipping to Osprey Performance.
 
If a Dealer completes a software update on your vehicle in person or through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates - and in turn Re-Lock's the ECU/DME you may need to require the DME to be unlocked again. This would be an additional charge to complete a second Unlock.
